Parking, access and awkward buildings

Wandsworth's housing swings from the famously narrow one-way streets of the Tonsleys to riverside blocks with concierge and loading bays at Riverside Quarter. A licensed carrier — why it protects you

A quick word on the bargain "we'll take it away" ads. Under section 34(2A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, you as the householder carry a duty of care to hand your waste only to a registered carrier. If an unlicensed collector dumps your sofa on East Hill or off Garratt Lane, the council can trace it to you — and you're facing a fixed penalty of up to £600, or an unlimited fine if prosecuted.
